How do you avoid impulse spending on clothes?

I've been trying to be smarter with my spending lately, but clothes shopping is definitely my weak spot . It always starts with "I'll just browse," and somehow I end up with a cart full of things I don't really need.

How do you stop yourself from impulse buying clothes - especially when there are sales or new collections popping up every week? Do you follow any rules or tricks to stay disciplined (like waiting 24 hours before buying, or using a wish list)? I'd love to hear how others manage to stay stylish and financially smart!

One trick that's really helped me is using a "wait rule" - if I see something I want, I give it a few days before buying. Most of the time, I end up realizing I don't actually need it. I also try to stick to a list of wardrobe essentials so I'm not tempted by every trend that pops up online. Unsubscribing from marketing emails and removing saved cards from shopping apps also cut down a lot of impulse buys.

I've found that setting a monthly clothing budget mkes a huge difference. Once I know exactly how much I can spend, I shop more intentionally and avoid random buys. I also try to focus on versatile pieces I can mix and match, and I keep a running wishlist - if I still want an item after a few weeks, it's usually worth it. That way, I avoid impulse purchases that I regret later.

What helps me most is sticking to a monthly clothing budget and tracking it like any other expense. Once I hit that limit, that's it-no exceptions. I also try to shop with a list based on what I actually need, not just what looks cute in the moment. Before checking out, I ask myself, "Will I still love this next month?" If the answer's no, I skip it.

How do you usually decide whether a clothing item is worth buying or not?

That's a big one. it's so easy to get tempted, especially with all the sales and ads popping up everywhere. What's helped me is giving myself a short "cooling-off" period before buying anything that's not a necessity. If I still want it after a few days, then I know it's not just an impulse. I also try to stick to a monthly clothing budget and keep a list of what I actually need, so I don't end up with random things that never get worn. Sometimes I'll even browse, add to cart, and walk away - half the time, I forget about it later! Do you find online shopping or in-store shopping harder to resist?

I can totally relate. clothes shopping is one of those temptations that's hard to resist, e specially with constant sales and new drops. What's helped me is settinga specific monthly "fun money" limit just for clothes, so I can enjoy buying something occasionally without going overboard. I also keep a wish list and wait a few days before purchasing anything; most of the time, I lose interest and save the money instead. Another trick is unsubscribing from brand newsletters or muting store accounts on social media-out of sight, out of mind really works. How about you-do you have a rule that helps you stay in control when you shop?

I totally get that, I've fallen into the "just browsing" trap so many times! What's helped me is adding stuff to a wish list and waiting a few days before buiyng; usually, I lose interest or realize I already have something similar. I also use an app like Klarna or Shop to track sales, so I don't feel pressured to buy right away just because of a promo. It's made shopping feel more intentional and less like a spur-of-the-moment splurge.

Same struggle . What helps me is a 24-hour rule - if I still want it tomorrow, then maybe. I also keep a wishlist instead of the cart, and half the time I forget about it. Unsubscribing from promo emails helps a ton too. You can still stay stylish, just be a little slower with the "buy" button.
